About
Shrewsbury-born Evelyn Jones grew up playing various age-group cricket for Shropshire. Jones, a left-handed opening batter, joined Lancashire from Staffordshire in 2017. She made an immediate impact in the shorter formats.
Jones was among the leading run-scorers as Lancashire sealed the domestic double, winning the T20 and 50-over titles in 2017. She was named the player of the year. Evelyn played for Loughborough Lightning in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Cricket Super League before joining Lancashire Thunder in 2017. She spent her winter of 2017/18 in New Zealand playing for Canterbury’s One-Day and Twenty20 domestic competitions.
Evelyn Jones has been appointed captain of Lancashire women for the 2018 campaign.
