Women's Asia Cup Likely to Be Held in UAE from August 28 to September 13

The 2026 Women's Asia Cup is expected to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from August 28 to September 13, with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) yet to make an official announcement regarding the tournament schedule and venues.

The eight-team T20 tournament is likely to feature defending champions Sri Lanka alongside India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, and hosts UAE. While participating nations have not received a formal confirmation, the ACC has informally asked teams to reserve the proposed dates for the competition.

According to reports, the ACC is awaiting final approval from its leadership before releasing the official fixtures, venues, and tournament schedule. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi currently serves as the head of the ACC.

In an email sent to participating teams on July 22, the ACC shared the tournament logo and stated that the venue was "currently being finalised." The governing body also indicated that teams are expected to arrive on August 27, with the final scheduled for September 13. However, several participating boards are still awaiting the official itinerary to finalize their travel and logistical arrangements.

The uncertainty surrounding the tournament became evident on Sunday when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) briefly announced India's squad before removing the announcement, reportedly because the ACC had not yet officially confirmed the tournament details.

The Women's Asia Cup is expected to serve as important preparation ahead of the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, where the women's cricket competition is scheduled to take place from September 17 to 24, just days after the Asia Cup final.
